For Kali, interior design is a delicate balance of creativity, function, and behavior. She loves working in ESG’s hospitality and multifamily residential sectors because of the potential for rich stories communicated through spaces that can create memorable experiences. “The importance of place to people is profound,” she says. “Being able to create dynamic and influential places that enhance lives is motivating.” She finds inspiration in the idea that that well designed spaces have the power to impact the human experience.
Hospitality and multifamily offer opportunities to impact a wide array of users, and in working with clients, Kali communicates openly to get a clear sense of their priorities. This allows her to cater the design to their desires and needs. Kali enjoys the challenges of taking clients’ goals and interpreting them through a creative and thoughtful language of design. She also enjoys meeting with creative professionals in other industries to broaden her own understanding of design and to stay current and inspired. “One of the beautiful things about interior design is how subtle it can be,” she says. As a designer, Kali enjoys the nuances of a space that make people pause, think and reflect, and she continually strives to create spaces that improve the user experience.
