As a project architect for ESG’s multifamily residences and higher-education student housing, as well as on various governmental projects, Christopher believes communication is key. “A large portion of my role is managing the expectations and intentions of designers and consultants, city officials and clients,” he says, “to be sure all of a project’s pieces fit smoothly together and the collaborators reach solutions through consensus.”

The role of a project architect encompasses the big picture and the smallest detail. Christopher guides the designer’s vision from concept through construction management. He analyzes project goals and solves challenges through technical details that add longevity, sustainability and functionality to buildings. His expertise includes applying new software and products to the resolution of traditional design challenges.

While managing projects, Christopher remains attuned to the overlap between building typologies, the sensitivity required in the adaptive reuse of historic structures, the appropriate detailing of new projects in historic neighborhoods and the flow of pedestrians in public spaces during the planning of transit-oriented development. By continually refreshing his management, technical and collaboration skills, Christopher enjoys his clients’ accolades and ongoing project success.
